Tsunami Hampers Visa Processing in UK Embassies

The tsunami in Asia has caused widespread disruption. There is a possibility that the UK’s visa services in the countries affected may be closed or restricted while our Visa Section staff assist their colleagues taking care of British nationals in the region.

Disruptions to visas services may happen at these British Visa Sections:

• Bangkok
• Colombo
• India
• Jakarta
• Kuala Lumpur

Enquiry lines to the Embassies and High Commissions may be busier than usual and we recommend that you contact them about visa enquiries only in an emergency.
